The journey started in 2015 under the leadership of Dr Tridib Banerjee, leading pediatrician from Kolkata with keen interest in the field of neurology pertaining to children came together under one roof and created the neurology chapter of West Bengal Academy of pediatrics. Dr Banerjee was the chief patron, Dr Sukanta Chatterjee and Dr Arijit Chatterjee were the other two patrons. With the idea of discussing and academically enriching ourselves the neurology chapter went on having increase in number of members and soon became sixty member team. We got increase support from the neurology chapter of IAP- Dr Anoop Verma and Dr K.P.Sarbhai. The first president of the chapter was Dr Kalpana Datta, secretary Dr Jasodhara Chaudhuri, Vice President Dr Dipankar Gupta and Dr Sandip Samanta and treasurer Dr Arundhuti Mukherjee.
The 1st CME was held in 2015 in Medical College Kolkata and was attended by eminent National faculty like Dr Anoop Verma and Dr K.P Sarbhai and it was a grand success. After that there were regular clinical meetings at different medical colleges which were well appreciated by faculty members and students. Two national CME were conducted at Taj Gateway in 2018 and 2019 with renowned national faculy like Dr Vrajesh Udani, Dr V Jaya Kumar, Dr Nitish Vora, Dr Suvasini Sharma etc along with Dr Anoop Verma and Dr K .P. Sarbhai , Dr Sanjeev Joshi and Dr Vasant Khalatkar. On both occasions it was attended by more than 200 delegates. It was organized by Prof Kalpana Datta, (organizing chairperson) and Dr Sudip Saha, (organizing secretary).
